The Orchard Partnership would like to inform patients that Cherry Orchard Surgery in Codford will be closed on Tuesday 28 July due to a planned power outage being carried out by SSE.
Following notification of the outage, we explored a number of options to keep services operating from the building. However, due to the nature and duration of the loss of power, no realistic or safe solution was available that would allow us to continue operating from the site.
What this means for patients
The surgery building will be closed for the duration of the power outage.
Our clinical teams will continue working remotely and from other Orchard Partnership locations. We have reviewed all appointments scheduled for that day and have either:
- Rescheduled appointments where necessary, or
- Arranged for appointments to take place remotely
Patients who are affected by any changes to appointments will be contacted directly.
Telephone Services
The closure will not affect our telephone systems.
Patients can continue to contact the practice as usual, with calls being managed by colleagues working from other Orchard Partnership sites.
Dispensing Services
The loss of power means that the Hubby automated dispensing machine will not be available on Tuesday 28 July.
We encourage patients who normally collect medication from Cherry Orchard Surgery to collect routine prescriptions either:
- Monday 27 July, or
- Wednesday 29 July
For patients requiring urgent (acute) medication on the day of the closure, dispensing will be available from Till Orchard Surgery in Shrewton.
Minimising Disruption
We recognise that this temporary closure may cause inconvenience and we apologise for any disruption.
To help minimise the impact on patients, we have increased dispensing team capacity before and after the closure and are working hard behind the scenes to maintain services wherever possible. However, patients may experience some disruption or delays around this period and we kindly ask for your patience and understanding.
We would like to thank all patients for their support while these essential power works are carried out.
